I thought it might be a nice way to kick off the week with a little Joey Heatherton number from the mid-1960s dance show ‘Hullabaloo’. In this clip she sings a new song celebrating the new dance known as–what else?–the ‘Huallabaloo’. But wait. Is this really a new song and a new dance? Or is it the same thing (with different words) as ‘The Matador’ by Major Lance? I don’t mean to start a copywrite dust-up here, but was Lance credited? Has his estate been robbed of the money generated by the ‘Hullabaloo’ song (rumored to be in the low three figures)? Compare and contrast for yourself.
