JERRY LEWIS IN A LINE-UP

Here’s a quick dose of Jerry Lewis in his greatest period (1957-64 for my money) in a scene from ‘The Delicate Delinquent’ (1957). He’s part of a police line-up and his behavior is precisely what I’m sure mine would be if put in the same situation. The tough-ass cop is played by Emile Meyer who plays the dirty cop Lt. Kello in ‘The Sweet Smell Of Success’ (also 1957). The movie was written and directed by Don McGuire, who co-wrote ‘Bad Day At Black Rock’ (1954) with Millard Kaufman and later wrote the story and first of many screenplay drafts of ‘Tootsie’. Meyer also played the warden in Don Siegel’s 1954 ‘Riot In Cell Block 11’. And that’s enough info for anyone to stomach. Just watch the clip and laugh!
