SERIOUSLY F#!#!#-UP COMMERCIALS FROM THE 80s

Here’s a reel of alternately funny, scary, disgusting or disturbing TV ads from the golden 80s. Lots of Cocaine and AIDS nostalgia, of course, and Brenda Vaccaro shilling for Tampons while inhaling through an iron lung in between sentences is pretty messed up. Cosby makes an appearance, natch, and a sad looking dog has a gun pointed to his head–and that puppy ain’t acting when he looks bewildered and scared. It’s supposed to be an ad promoting rescue dogs but you feel like getting the dog a new agent after you see what they put him through. Best of all is an ad for a deeply dystopian telephone service for people who need to cry over the phone to a stranger. It’s not funny. It’s not goofy. It’s not even gross. It’s very, very sad…
