Here’s a compendium of Buster Keaton’s most extraordinary stunts, all of which are done practically (i.e.no special effects), all of them by him (i.e. no stunt doubles) and some of them truly death-defying. That he lived to the age he did is extraordinary. I have to assume Buster is Tom Cruise’s role model, given that Cruise (who also does all his own stunts to the horror of his management) literally seems like he won’t be satisfied until he dies on camera.
