JERRY LEWIS/COUNT BASIE PT. DEUX

This justifiably famous clip of Jerry ‘lip-syncing’ to Count Basie’s recording ‘Blues In Hoss Flat’ is from ‘The Errand Boy’ (1961) and really is ‘Jerry for people who hate Jerry’. The Youtuber who posted this (who calls themselves TBirdsof1965) went back to the original Basie album, ‘Chairman Of The Board’ (1958), took the original stereo recording and–with a little remixing for separation/clarity–synced it up with the old picture. Great fun to listen to and watch. I always wanted to write a scratch lyric for this but never got further then the section when he points around the table at his invisible flunkies and clearly says: ‘And you and you and you and me we’ll own this town and then they’ll see ba-da-da-da-da-dah!’
