Continuing our little remembrance of the world’s first official crooner, above is a nice profile of Rudy Vallee done for the Today Show by Boyd Matson in the early 80s. Bryant Gumble was then the host and appears—pre-face lift–at the end of the segment. There’s nothing terribly fresh in this piece, but it gives a nice overview of Vallee’s unique career as well as allowing us a look at his private ‘museum’ which was lodged in a building on his estate off Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills. Now let’s turn to me. I met Vallee in the early 80s and visited that museum (and estate). It’s a strange tale and I’ve recounted it perhaps too often. But it’s a nice memory and for those of you who are newish to this blog I offer up an old post in which I tell the tale. Click here to read about my day on the Rue De Vallee.

Was there a part two to this Rudy Vallee. At the end you make it sound like there is more to come.
Sorry, yes, should be able to find it online by searching for part two with same title.
