Do you remember in Mel Brooks’ “The Producers” the looks on the faces of the audience members as they watched ‘Springtime For Hitler” unfold? That reaction is roughly the same as the one you’ll likely be having as you watch some of the most unbearably awful, insensitive and hilariously dated cultural attitudes and artifacts on display in this reel of TV commercials from the 1980s. At the top of the week I posted the 1970s version of the same--click here if you missed it. Bill Cosby discussing how dangerous drugs are is the tip of the iceberg. As for the diet drug with the unfortunate name and the British meatball with the even more unfortunate name, well, see for yourself and decide which is more inappropriate. Happy Friday, you lucky ducks!
