Yesterday we explored two versions of Burger King’s most famous jingle (indeed one of the most famous jingles in TV history) ‘Hold The Pickle, Hold the Lettuce…’ But before that ad got into the collective consciousness, the hamburger chain tried any number of different advertising approaches. Above is a reel of half a dozen Burger King tries (including the two I posted yesterday–which appear as something of a relief). The opening ad, featuring a Native American, is shockingly tasteless but has its own historical value–what it is I’m not exactly sure of, however. The rest are very 1970s, including a cute comedy ad featuring a detective and his…well, I’ll let it speak for itself.
